Stunning Salcombe circular walk!
There have been some stunning, sunny winter day this month - storm Arwen aside of course - and we got out for a beautiful 6 mile circular. The walk features in the Wild Swimming Walks guide (a copy available in our guest lounge, featuring 28 South Devon walks it should keep you occupied for some time) and starts out at North Sands beach in Salcombe.

The walk climbs upward offering fabulous views back down to North Sands, Sunny Cove and Mill Bay. It then cuts inland through rolling Devon countryside and the thatched village of Combe before cutting back down to the coast and the spectactur Soar Mill Cove. This is the ideal spot for a quick dip or lazing on the sand. Look out for birds of prey soaring over head, longhorn cattle and even the odd stag.

The next few miles of South West Coastal Path offer some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery on the planet as you pass Starehole Bay before climbing Bolt Head. Views up the estuary to Salcombe open up and there is the option of coffee and cake or even a full blown seafood platter with fizz at South Sands beach or at The Winking Prawn back at the start.
