We are located halfway between historic Salcombe and Dartmouth

There are dozens of beaches within a short drive and the South West Coastal Path runs uninterupted all along this stunning section of coastline. Wild, beautiful Dartmoor can be reached easily. Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth make great daytrip options.

Salcombe

The pretty coastal town of Salcombe sits on the banks of the estuary. There are plenty of designer shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and you will not be short of things to do.

Salcombe offers a variety of water sports including sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding. The sandy beaches at North Sands and South Sands are close by or take the ferry across to gorgeous Mill Bay.

Beaches

Every type of beach you could wish for is within striking distance of The Whitehouse.

Whether you want full on facilities, a beach shack serving piping hot moules frites with an ice cold Picpoul or a deserted, secret cove.

Towns & Villages

Bustling Kingsbridge is just a few miles away. Take a trip to quirky Totnes, amble around the antique shops in Ashburton or cross over the Dart to colourful Brixham.

Salcombe Gin

Distill your own gin at Salcombe Gin. Located on Island Street, Salcombe. Book in, create and take home your own bottle or sit at the bar and take in the views.

Sauna on the beach

A sauna located on beautiful Blackpool Sands beach. Book by the hour or hire privately. Nothing beats a dip in the sea after relaxing in the heat. Book via Sea Kayak Devon.

Sea Swimming

There are beautiful swimming spots throughout the area. For the more adventurous checkout the amazing experiences on offer at Coast to Coast and Adventure South.

Dartmoor

Dartmoor is well worth the excursion. Craggy hilltops and forest clad valleys, keep an eye out for wild ponies.

Reservoirs, tarns and wild rivers make for inviting spots for a quick dip. Make a day of it and take lunch at a traditional moorland pub like the Rugglestone Inn.

National Trust

Overbecks house & garden are perched up high above Salcombe. Close by are South Sands and North Sands beaches.

Greenway is Agatha Christies holiday home, nestled in woodland on the banks of the Dart. Take the ferry or steam train from Dartmouth.

Paddleboarding

From the calm waters of the estuary and its creeks to Bantham's waves.

The area is perfect for beginner and expert alike - lessons from Waterborn in Kingsbridge and hire from Triocean or Salcombe Paddleboarding who have a great spot on the water opposite Salcombe.

Dartmouth

Situated on the banks of the picturesque river Dart, Dartmouth is the perfect year round destination.

If it's local food you love there is nowhere better to sample local produce. Check out the farmers market in the market square every second Saturday of the month, visit Coastal Kitchen for dates.

Dartmouth is the starting point for many guided boat tours and you can also self hire.
