Every type of beach you could wish for is within striking distance of The Whitehouse.
Whether you want full on facilities, a beach shack serving piping hot moules frites with an ice cold Picpoul or a deserted, secret cove which makes you feel like you've struck gold.

There are sheltered coves, vast sandy stretches, gentle shallows, rockpools and surf hotspots.

We are well located for some of the best hiking routes in the UK. The South West Coastal Path delivers whatever the weather. Check out the WALKS page for a selection of our favourites.

There are short circulars, long slogs, walks with fine dining or simple pub grub as a reward. There's the Gara terrace with it's gobsmacking views.
A visit to The Whitehouse bed and breakfast hotel is not complete without taking on one of these treks!



The Whitehouse is ideally located just a few miles from bustling Kingsbridge. Pretty Salcombe is a little further, on the banks of the estuary. Historic Dartmouth is to the east.

The area is extremely dog friendly. The vast majority of beaches are accessible and there are miles of stunning coastal path and even a number of trails direct from our gardens.

To add to all of that any pub or restaurant worth its salt down here welcome dogs with open arms!
